Record Description | Viper's Bugloss (Echium vulgare) can be seen on calcareous scree slopes on Whitcliffe Scar and in Whitcliffe Wood wherever the absence of tree canopy allows it to flower.
The uncommon deep red-brown flowers of Houndstongue (Cynoglossum officinale)can be seen on steep scree below Applegarth Scar where it seems to have replaced Echium vulgare. |
