| Additional Notes | If there are is a path on either side of the meandering Hoods Bottom Beck, I have been unable to find it. This walk is quite rough and not to be undertaken lightly as it is necessary to cross and re-cross the stream to avoid small cliffs. This will be impossible when, after rain, the water level is high.
Who Hood was, and the importance of his Bottom, I have no idea but the three waterfalls at the head of the valley about one mile ustream of Ravenseat Farm are surely among the most attractive in Swaledale.
