Rain stops play
A strange and unusual feeling crept over diggers around lunch time today; it became noticeably chilly. This was soon followed by quite heavy rain rolling in. After weeks of dry, dusty weather the parched stones became slippery and dangerous to walk on, and digging had to stop. The current forecast is for the sunshine to return which may be good news as Sunday is the Feast of St Swithin.
