Taking shape
Day two of the 2018 dig saw the end (finally) of deturfing; hard work in the hot, dry conditions. Some interesting stone features are already beginning to appear which look like more flagged surfaces. The turf stack has been used to recreate the outline of wall on the site of the roundhouse. This is an inspired idea (Philip?) which provides visual context for the diggers and will be used to describe the site to local school children when they visit next week.
