Swaledale and Arkengarthdale Archaeology Group The Swaledale Project 7000 Years of a Landscape and its People Registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation Number 1155775 |
The proposed project:
The aim, as stated above, is to add to our knowledge of the development
of the settlements of Reeth, Fremington and Grinton over the ages. To
achieve this we propose to involve local people in digging a number of
test pits (one metre square, maximum one metre deep) in gardens and
public spaces around the centres of the three villages.
The Swaledale Big Dig was launched in Reeth on the 13th March by Carenza Lewis. If you want to be notified periodically of what is happening by email please contact alan@swaag.org
